Green Policy
Committed to protecting our Park and our Planet. We are a proud member of the Green Hospitality Programme and have been awarded an eco-label certificate.
We recognise that our business has an important role to play in protecting the environment for future generations. The Castlerosse is committed to reducing its environmental impact through better efficiencies in the use of energy, waste recycling and water usage. We are located in one of Ireland's most beautiful locations and it is our responsibility to protect this. Eco Tourism is a topic the Castlerosse Park Resort is very passionate about. We are on the door step of the Killarney National Park and guests can enjoy our grounds and its surroundings without having any negative effects on the environment with fantastic walking and cycling routes.
Our core green principals to help us do this are:
We source most of our water from a 60m well on our own property. We will encourage all our team and guests to be mindful of waste and usage.
We are committed to reducing waste to landfill with the introduction of bins for recyclables. We have a green purchasing policy, working with suppliers to reduce waste and single use plastic as part of the 'Pledge on Plastic' initiative we have signed up to.
Green energy is already in place in all of our 39 holiday homes and the introduction of heat pumps and solar panels elsewhere will greatly reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. We have received a certificate from Flogas for being one of the first customers to sign up for the company's recently launched carbon offsetting initiative.
To encourage the change to Electric cars and Hybrids, we have installed electric charging points. We encourage guests to explore the wonders of Killarney National Park. We supply complimentary maps to discover the trails by foot or bike.
We are currently creating a Herb Garden which will be 100% organic. Our Head Chef Arnd and his team will use these herbs and vegetables in various dishes served in our Restaurants. We will also be incorporating some of these herbs in our new cocktail list in Mulligans Bar. The Biodiversity Garden will encourage more wild flowers and fauna to the Resort. Guests are invited to take time to ramble the paths and see how it develops.
We have Electric vehicle chargers located in our carpark, right by reception. Electric vehicle chargers promote sustainability, reduce carbon footprint and help to meet ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) objectives. Electric vehicle chargers are the only ESG revenue generating investment.
